In about a month I will be leaving for another missions thing, but this time I will not be going overseas. I will be moving to Georgia for a program called CGA (Center for Global Action). CGA is a training and discipleship program through Adventures in Missions, I will be taking the field leadership track.
On the race God changed my heart in many ways, I started to see other people as God sees them and I began to understand what home is. Home is not where you sleep or where you grow up, it is where God is. God is in His people, in the church. I also began to realize what people meant when they talked about ‘the Kingdom’. I would hear the turn “spreading the Kingdom” and be a bit confused, a kingdom does not spread, it conquers. How do we spread a kingdom? The Kingdom is the people of God, essentially it is where God is. When we go out and love people with the love of God we bring to them a message that can lead them to know God personally and walk in His presence. Then we have spread the Kingdom. Home, the church and the kingdom are the same thing. This is something that has changed how I walk through life.
God does that through the world race, he takes basic concepts (home, church, people) and completely changes how you see and understand those things which then changes how we live. That does not happen just by traveling or hanging out with cool people, it takes people pouring into you, and seeking the Lord. God changes your heart to be more like His. My heart right now is to help other people along on this journey. I want to lead world race trips, pouring into the racers and digging into God with them. To see God change other people’s hearts to be more like Him. Some people think it is impossible to change the world, there are simply too many people and too much begging for attention to possibly change how the world is. I do not believe this though. I have seen God do incredible things in people through people and I think that will be his plan for me.
On the race there were a few people who especially changed my life, these were my squad leaders. They have already done the race before and now were going back to lead us and help us understand the heart of God more. Mark, Hillary, Kaylaynn, those are people who have done a bunch to change the world. God has used them to empower TONS of people all over the world to live for Christ. That is what I want to do, that is what I think God is leading me to do. So my next step is CGA. From October to March, every morning I will be training in field leadership, and studying scriptures intensely. Living in community with and being discipled by people who are seeking to grow closer to Christ and live for ‘the Kingdom’.
CGA is fund-raised like an overseas trip, I need $2,500 by October 6th, $3,500 by November 6th, $4,500 by December 6th, and the full amount of $5,950 by January 6th.
